On the 2101 NBX Basic Phone model, a large two-line, 24-character LCD display improves visibility of the system's directory of internal users. There is a 10/100 LAN uplink device switched port on the bottom of the set. Use it to connect your PC to the LAN for access to the NBX NetSet application, so you can set your user preferences.
A conventional alphanumeric touch-tone keypad functions just like those on conventional telephone sets. Use it to dial calls as you would on any touch-tone phone.

LCD Directory Buttons: These three programmable (or "soft") buttons let you operate the phone's internal directory. Press the SELECT button to dial the name currently displayed in the LCD display. Press EXIT to return the LCD view to the current status screen.

Scrolling Buttons: The two buttons below the LCD Directory buttons let you scroll within the directory, missed calls, Answered calls, Dialed calls, Personal and System Speed Dial numbers. Use the (\/) button to move downward in the LCD internal directory. Use the (/\) button to scroll upward.

Message Waiting Button: When the LCD display indicates new voice mail has arrived, press the blue MSG button to hear messages left in your voice mail mailbox.

Volume Controls: These control the volume for the speaker, the handset, and the ringer. Press the top button to make a voice or the ring louder. Press the bottom button to make a voice or the ring softer.

Hold Button: Press the HOLD button to temporarily put aside a call without hanging up. This enables you to handle another task, such as pursuing information for the caller on hold The LCD call toggle indicator for the line on which the call came in blinks slowly to remind you that you have a call on Hold. To return to the caller on Hold, press the Call Toggle button. If you forget and leave a caller on hold, after an interval set by your administrator, your phone will ring you back to remind you that the call is still waiting.

Transfer Button: When a caller needs to talk to someone else, press the TRANSFER button to send the call from your phone to any other internal line or, if your call permissions allow, to an outside line. You can transfer a call either without notifying the recipient (one-touch or "blind" transfer), or by first ringing up the recipient (two-touch or "announced" transfer). If the party does not answer, the caller will be returned to you.

Call Toggle Button: When a caller needs to talk to someone else, press the TRANSFER button to send the call from your phone to any other internal line or, if your call permissions allow, to an outside line. Feature Access Buttons (Without LEDs): Transfer and Call Toggle are really Feature Access buttons. Since Transfer and Call Toggle are used many times with the Basic sets, we listed them as standard buttons, however they can be changed to other Feature Codes like; Direct Mail Transfer, Call Park, Flash, (unassigned) and Release Call (for use with a headset.) etc.
